Commentary
Plantar fasciitis is a repetitive stress injury characterized by inflammation & irritation of the plantar fascia. Common complaints are pain on the plantar (bottom) aspect of the heel. In some cases the pain may extend outwards from the heel towards the arch of the foot. Symptoms may be worse with the first few steps in the morning or after periods of prolonged sitting or
rest. Some factors that can increase the chances of developing this condition are foot biomechanics such as excessive pronation, leg length discrepancy & high or low foot arches.
